Payel Chowdhury

Most real problems are not about answers. They're about decisions.

I build AI systems designed for real workflows, evolving context, and the messiness of real life.

Current Work

Today I'm building Toutami, an AI platform company focused on decision-oriented systems — software designed to support real workflows, evolving context, and multi-step problems.

Our first product, Voyami, explores this idea through travel — a domain where decisions unfold over time and simple tools are rarely enough.

I'm interested in building systems that work in the real world, not just in demos.

Background

Before starting Toutami, I led data science and AI organizations across retail, consumer, and financial services, building systems used in real operational environments.

Over time, I found myself drawn less to titles and more to building — teams, platforms, and products that people actually use.

Beyond Work

Outside of building companies, I spend a lot of time thinking about learning, leadership, and how people grow over time.

I care about mentoring, especially women and young builders, about raising curious and confident kids, and about designing a life where work, family, creativity, and learning can all exist at the same time.

Most of my best ideas happen somewhere between work, family, and a question I can't stop thinking about.

Writing

I write about AI, decision systems, leadership, parenting, and long-term thinking.

Some posts are technical. Some are personal. Most sit somewhere in between.

Speaking & Advisory

I speak and advise on AI strategy, decision systems, platform thinking, and leadership — especially for teams trying to move from demos to real production systems.
